Yoni Ashar is co-organizer of the retreat, along with his dashing girlfriend Hannah Kapnik. He loves meditation, frisbee, learning Torah, and doing cartwheels. He is currently working at a neuro-psychology lab at the University of Colorado, Boulder, researching the effects of meditation on the mind and brain. He learned Torah for two years at the Pardes Institute, in Jerusalem, and has lead shiurim (text studies), dance workshops, and a diversity of experiential education activities. He has an ambivalent relationship with prayer and is therefore excited for the opportunity this retreat affords to delve deeper.
